The current state of our nation, politics, and even the church is divided. People are torn over doctrine, morals, and absolutes. People disagree on just about anything and cancel one another entirely at every opportunity. In a world that is so divisive, we should strive to promote unity through Christ’s amazing love!
The first step we need to be sure to follow is to root ourselves in God’s Word. Make sure you’re operating from His Word, and you can be sure you’re operating effectively! Operate in love and be a display of Christ’s love to those around you—show them the good news, don’t just tell them! Promote a spirit of unity!
Next, we have to be intentional about speaking the truth in love. The leaders in Acts corrected others to align them with biblical doctrine. The key here though is that they did it out of love! They weren’t correcting people to push them down or make them feel bad—none of God’s children are perfect, we all make mistakes! It isn’t your place to judge someone’s heart—leave that to God! Correct them in love, and walk in unity!
In our divided world, we must be the agent of change. We must root ourselves in God’s Word and spread His amazing love to one another. We must spread the good news of the gospel and, through love, create a spirit of lasting unity! What are you waiting for? Strive for unity!
